South Africa lost three lattices and maundered a bit, but one by one the batsmen got out and the batsmen on their way to the kiosk. Captain Bavuma was caught out for 4 out 22 balls with Ibadat Hossain bowling. Verreynne Mehedi Hasan was caught out for 7 out 16 balls and his boundary was 1 four. Mulder was caught for 11 out 42 balls by Mehedi Hasan Miraj and he didn't have a boundary. Maharaj made 5 off 5 balls and was sailed out for lbw by Taskin Ahmed but his boundary was 1 four. Harmer was run out for 11 out 25 balls and the boundary was 1 four. Ryan Rickelton, on the other hand, remained unbeaten on 39 runs at the end of the innings. Olivier was run out for a gate and Williams was sailed out for a lbw in Ibadat Hossain's bowling. Ryan Rickelton remained unbeaten on 39 off 69 balls with four boundaries.

decided to drift after winning the toss in the first Test match between Bangladesh and South Africa. South Africa lost the toss and tagged to club. Openers Sarel Erwee and Elgar maundered well. South Africa scored 50 runs without lattices. Elgar's fur enabled South Africa to score. Elgar scored his 20th partial century. Elgar and Sarel Erwee formed a 100- run cooperation but Khaled Ahmed broke their cooperation. Elgar and Sarel Erwee broke the 113- run cooperation with Khaleda Ahmed. Elgar was caught by the gate- keeper for 7 off 101 balls but his boundary was 11 fours. On the other hand, Sarel Erwee couldn't survive for long and Mehedi Hasan Miraj was sailed out for 41 runs. Sarel Erwee was sailed out for 41 off 102 balls by Mehedi Hasan Miraj and his boundary was six. South Africa lost the first gate by 113 runs. Keegan Petersen and commander Bavuma brought relief to the match by 118 runs for the alternate gate. Keegan Petersen made 19 off 36 balls with three boundaries. Captain Bavuma formed a 36- run cooperation with Ryan Rickelton but Ibadat Hossain broke their cooperation. Sadman Islam sailed out Harmer for zero. Mahmudul Hasan Joy won the alternate gate for just 4 runs and was sailed out by Maharaj. Bangladesh lost 2 lattices for 6 runs after fur disaster. Captain Mominul was caught out for 2 in Maharaj's bowling. Mushfiqur Rahim zero and Liton Kumar Das 2 runs out Maharaj bowling. Yasir Ali was sailed out for 5 by Maharaj. Nazmul Hossain Shant, the lone batsman of the platoon, was caught out for 26 off 52 balls by Harmer. Taskin Ahmed was caught out for 14 off 17 balls by Maharaj. Mehdi Hasan Miraj was dismissed for zero in Harmer bowling. Khaled Ahmed was out for zero in Maharaj's bowling.
Bangladesh were all out for 53 in the alternate innings and lost by a big periphery of 222 runs.
